Students will learn that packing engineers use what they know about the properties of the product and the needs of the consumer to design packages. Students will learn that packages serve particular functions depending on the products and consumers for which they are designed. Students will examine ordinary packages that might be found in supermarkets or drugstores to practice thinking about and analyzing packages in the same manner as packaging engineer.
