Phase 2
Students continue to explore the field of environmental engineering as they will use the Engineering Design Process to “design”,” implement”, “evaluate” and” improve” a process for cleaning an oil spill so that the oil has the least impact on the surrounding ecosystem. Students learn how pollution can negatively impact the organisms in their community and around the globe. They will think like engineers as they discuss the variety of materials which will be good or poor choices for accomplishing given tasks; and they will create a model simulating a city with an oil spill and develop a plan to clean the oil spill. |
